Full payment for accommodation is required at least 30 days prior to arrival.
Shared Student Flats
Students can also book a room in a shared student apartment. We charge a one-time booking fee of 90€ for this service. We also require a 100€ deposit that we forward to the landlord at the time of reservation (this amount is deducted from the first month’s rent or the deposit required in shared flats). All other payments are made directly from the student to the landlord.
Our accommodation service is an additional service offered independently of the Spanish programs at Salamanca University. Please read our accommodation conditions and contact us with any questions you may have before you complete your reservation.
Spanish Host Families
Living with a Spanish host family is the preferred option for those who wish to extend their practice of Spanish outside the classroom and learn about the Spanish lifestyle. If you want to learn as much Spanish as possible during your stay in Salamanca, this is the best accommodation option.
Spanish host families are typically older couples, as fewer large families have the ability to rent out extra living space to foreign students. Host families often accommodate more than one international student at a time.
When staying with a Spanish host family you can choose between half-board (breakfast and either lunch or dinner) and full-board (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

During the months of July and August, there is an additional fee of 50€ for 2 week programs, 75€ for 3 week programs, and 100€ for monthly or 4 week programs.
Laundry service is not included in the price and costs 14€ per wash.
Shared Student Apartments
Student apartments are the cheapest and most popular form of accommodation for international students. Shared apartments are located throughout Salamanca and are all within 20 minutes walking-distance from the university. These apartments typically include a shared kitchen, one or two bathrooms, a living room with dining space, a TV, sofas, and three to five bedrooms equipped with a small study table, a bed, and a closet.
Please note that, as a low-cost option, shared student apartments are furnished simply and provide modest living space. Students are responsible for cleaning, cooking, and laundry, and there is limited to no landlord supervision. International students are typically grouped together in the same apartments.
The cost for a room in a shared apartment ranges between 300-450€ per month, plus utility costs (between 30-50€ per month).
Beginning in October and through the end of June, student apartments are only available for stays of at least three months (and in some cases, at least six months). During the summer months, rooms are available on a monthly basis.
Please note that parties are strictly prohibited and can lead to immediate expulsion from the apartment and the loss of your deposit.
Campus Residence
Life in a campus residence provides a unique experience and arguably represents the best opportunity to learn Spanish in a fun environment. Students who select this living option can enjoy complete immersion into Salamanca University’s renowned student life.
Extra facilities depend on the particular residence chosen – these can include access to a gym, TV rooms, terraces, bicycle hire, and much more. One of the residences we work with provides kitchens so that students can cook their own meals; the other residences provide a range of catering options.
The student residences in Salamanca are very popular among long-term students (studying full degrees at Salamanca University), and long-term students always have preference for places at the residences over short-term students (studying a year or less).
As a result, we cannot guarantee availability for short-term students (staying less than one year). If you are interested in accommodation in a student residence, we will of course do our best to offer the option to you. However, we will not be able to confirm availability until a few weeks before the start of the program. During the start of the school year (in October), space is particularly limited, and it is especially difficult to offer accommodation for short term students in student residences.
If we find that we are unable to offer you a room at a student residence, we will provide you with alternative accommodation in a shared student flat, with a Spanish host family, or in a private flat.
Prices at student residences vary a lot depending on the type of residence and the meals included (from 700Eur to 1200Eur per month). Upon request, we can provide you more information about prices and different residence options in Salamanca.
Private Apartment
For those who prefer privacy, individual studio apartments are available. The studios are located in Salamanca’s historic district and include a bedroom, a kitchenette with a cooker and a fridge, and a bathroom.
The cost for a studio apartment is approximately 100€ per day.
